What is a Virtual Reality Panorama?

  •
You, the viewer, are placed in the center of a view with the ability to "look" (pan or move) right or left in that view.  Example:  Standing in the middle of a room turn completely around so you get to view the entire room from that one location.
How is a Virtual Reality Panorama created?
  • A number of separate digital still photosare taken of the room (for maximum picture quality - 12 to 20 individual photos).  These are then uploaded into a computer and 'stitched' (joined together) to form a continuous and seamless panorama image.
  • That image is then digitally edited forcolor balance, sun flares and other touch ups as needed.
How does a Virtual Reality Panorama become part of a web page?
  • Because a Java Applet is used to viewthe image, HTML code is generated to implement that applet.  That HTML code is then incorporated into the web page where the panorama is to be displayed.  When the browser opens that page the applet is automatically loaded and the panorama is displayed on the screen.
